Yes, Terradyne is a co-ed residential treatment facility.

We are an addiction recovery treatment centre that offers residential programs. We provide luxury accommodations and a five-star menu.

We offer 30 to 90-day treatment programs that are personalized to client needs. Our programming includes solid nutritional, recreational and spiritual components aligned with the needs and interests of clients.

At Terradyne, we understand that many factors contribute to an addiction and we believe that treatment is not a one-size-fits-all approach. Instead of using one standard form of treatment, Terradyne offers personalized treatment plans that individualize the recovery process. We believe in meeting the individual where they are at and utilizing a multitude of therapeutic approaches to best meet their needs. Our clinicians will help the individual establish attainable goals, monitor their progress, and make adjustments to the treatment plan when necessary. Our therapists employ narrative, cognitive behavioural therapy, acceptance commitment therapy, motivational interviewing, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), and other identified therapeutic techniques and interventions based on the needs of clients in order to help them succeed. We also employ mindfulness, recreational therapy and nutrition planning to help clients get on the right track. 

We believe that when a person has a treatment plan in place that is tailored to their specific needs and is meaningful to them, it will result in a better outcome for long-term success. Our end work with clients includes building robust safety plans to prevent relapse, helping our clients to live the lives they desire.

We implement aspects of a 12-step recovery plan in our personalized plans developed in collaboration with clients, which includes introducing clients to regular Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous meetings.

At the moment, we are focused on offering residential programs, but we offer online classes via Zoom for our aftercare program post-treatment.

We understand that Substance Use Disorder impacts more than just the individual and we believe that family members can play a vital role in their loved one’s recovery. Our Family Care Program provides a space for family members to be part of the recovery process and gives everyone the chance to have a voice in a safe, therapeutic environment. We offer Substance Use Disorder education, family counselling sessions facilitated by experienced therapists, and the opportunity to learn about relapse risk factors and prevention tools as requested. Over most other rehab centres, Terradyne aims to equip families so they can continue to support family members in their continued recovery journey. Our focus is on rebuilding damaged connections and fostering a sense of clarity and optimism moving forward. While our priority is healing the individual, we believe that involving and helping to heal the family is a key factor in long-term success.

The chances of a successful recovery (one year consistent clean time) triples for those that stay connected to recovery-based activities and groups. Terradyne offers clients 30 days of online psychoeducation classes post-treatment. This can be extended at the discretion of the client.

Our qualified therapists have Masters degrees in counselling; they are Certified Canadian Counsellors (C.C.C.) through the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA), Certified Clinical Trauma Professionals (CCTP) through the International Association of Trauma Professionals (IATP), Certified and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (C-DBT), trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) through EMDRIA, and they are also Registered Counselling Therapists (RCT) through the Nova Scotia College of Counselling Therapists (NSCCT).

We offer both private and semi-private rooms depending on the preference of clients. Our suites offer a home away from home for our clients with balconies that overlook breathtaking Jeddore Harbour.  

We are currently in the process of accreditation through Accreditation Canada. Our Counsellors and Recreation Therapists are licensed.

We are continuing to work towards making connections with a variety of related organizations as we grow. 

Not at this time, but we are working toward becoming authorized to work with veterans in the future. Please check with your VAC caseworker.

We work with individuals who are 19 years or older.

Yes. Family members and friends are encouraged to visit clients as we have a family counselling component to the program.
